  • No Account Required: WATDplayer does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the App. All core features work without signing in.

  • Optional Mailing List: You may optionally sign in with Apple to subscribe to our mailing list. If you do, we collect your name and email address (you may choose to hide your email via Apple's privacy relay). This information is used solely to send you updates about new content.

  • Optional Patreon Login: If you are a Patreon supporter, you may optionally log in with Patreon to access ad-free podcast feeds. We collect your Patreon account information (name, email, and membership status) solely to verify your supporter status.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: We may collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and improving the App.

  • Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics such as which episodes you play and app features you use to improve our content and user experience.

  • Location Data: The App uses your GPS location to provide location-based audio experiences. Location data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or stored permanently.

Push Notifications (Optional)

  • If you opt-in to push notifications, we collect your device token to send you notifications about new podcast episodes. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date.

Data Retention

  • Local Data: Audio playback progress and preferences are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.

  • Device Tokens: If you enable push notifications, your device token is stored securely and deleted if you uninstall the App or disable notifications.

International Users

The App is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
